July is such a great time to celebrate Independence day with family, lay out at one of Texas' beautiful beaches, or take a weekend trip to that festival you've always wanted to go to. See what's happenin' around the state this July!

 

 

July 3-4

Old Fashioned 4th of July in Granbury

The Fourth of July celebration kicks off the evening of July third! Visitors can enjoy a car show, concert, food trucks, parade food vendors, arts &craft vendors, and amazing fireworks over Lake Granbury.

 

July 4-7

Texas Cowboy Reunion in Stamford at Texas Cowboy Reunion Grounds

The Texas Cowboy Reunion Rodeo was organized in 1930 as a means of gathering together true cowboys and preserving traditions of the once great cattle empires of the Southwest. Reunion events include a parade, chuck wagon dinners, dances, cowboy poetry performances, the Western Art Show, and Old Timers' Fiddler Contest.

49th Annual Rockport Art Festival in Rockport at Festival Grounds near entrance to Rockport Beach

Over 120 artists from across the nation show their masterpieces

in a variety of media and styles at this juried fine-arts event. There's live music, food, an air-conditioned party tent and children's activities.

 

July 11-15

Marfa Film Festival in Marfa
Since 2008, this festival has been dedicated to showcasing a strong vibrant blend of short feature documentary, narrative and experimental films. A full afternoon schedule is followed each evening by outdoor classics screenings in a starlit desert.

 

July 12-15

Texas Welcomes the World International Route 66 Festival in Shamrock

Artists, authors, musicians, and state Route 66 Associations invite road fans to join in four days of events, education, exhibits, vendor booths, and live music to celebrate the Mother Road. With music by The Road Crew. Texans, show your interest in a dedicated Route 66 Texas license plate-- sign up now!

 

83rd Annual Deep Sea Roundup in Port Aransas

The longest running fishing tournament on the Texas Gulf Coast, the Roundup began in 1932 as the tarpon roundup and now attracts as many as 800 participants annually. The five competitive divisions are offshore, bay surf, fly fishing, junior, and a piggy perch contest for children.

33rd Annual Parker County Peach Festival in Weatherford

 

In addition to celebrating the peach crop from local growers, the festival also showcases local arts and crafts vendors. The event includes live music, the Peach Pedal Bike Ride, a 42 Domino tournament, children's activities, and over 200 arts, crafts, food and activity booths.

 

July 18-22

Ultimate Fandango Weekend in Alpine

Tour through the Big Bend region visiting the filming locations of the 1985 movie, Fandango. Actors from the movie will participate throughout the weekend, and two nights of activities in Alpine will include a screening of the movie.

 

July 22-28

Old Settlers Reunion in Hico at City Park
Started in 1882, one year before Hico was incorporated, the Old Settlers Reunion is 129 years old. And, although the reunion was not held during WW II, theHico Old Settlers Reunion is the oldest event of its kind in Texas!

 

July 26-29

Viva Big Bend Music Festival in Alpine, Marfa, Fort Davis, Marathon

A celebration of music and Texas,Viva Big Bend showcases more than 50 bands at various venues in Alpine, Marfa, Fort Davis and Marathon. Additional events include an art show and activities for children.

 

July 27-29

Great Texas Balloon Race in Longview at East Texas Regional Airport
Up, up, and away! This three-day event is the largest sanctioned hot air balloon race in Texas with over eighty sport and special shape balloons competing for prizes. It's a great family event with activities for all ages including balloon glows, live music, vendors and plenty of refreshments.

 

Quiltfest 2018 in New Braunfels at New Braunfels Civic/Convention Center

Enjoy a three-day quilt festival celebrating the color and beauty of quilts.

July 29-30

Dragon Boat Festival in Cleburne at Lake Pat Cleburne

This free family fun event offers entertainment, vendors and the excitement of dragon boat competition. TraditionalHong Kong-style BuK Dragon Boats are provided for the teams that race down courses ranging from 250m to 1,000m.
