December 1-3

Christmas at Old Fort Concho in San Angelo

Visit Fort Concho's largest annual event as the forty acres and twenty-four buildings at the landmark are filled with shopping, entertainment, food and beverage, displays, living history, period entertainment, children's workshops, and many special events.

 

Dickens of the Strand in Glaveston

With a nod to the ghost of Dickens past and an eye towards the future, Galveston’s world famous Victorian holiday festival returns for another weekend! The annual holiday street festival, based on 19th-century Victorian London, features parades, non-stop entertainment on six stages, strolling carolers, roving musicians, bagpipers, jugglers and a host of other entertainers.

 

December 2

Candlelight Christmas in West Columbia

Step back in time and tour the plantation house decorated in the style of a mid-1800s Texas Christmas. See the feather tree, learn about toys popular for gift giving during this period, and view the dining room table set for a sumptuous holiday feast. Relax outside and enjoy the beverage of the season, wassail, and Christmas cookies. Victorian Santa will also be available for photos.

 

30th Annual DeerFest in Ozona

A community-wide appreciation banquet for hunters. Attendees are fed a meal of chicken-fried deer, turkey, axis, deer sausage, deer chili, deer tamales and brisket.

 

December 9

Cultures of Candlelight! in Dallas Heritage Village

There are many cultures represented at Dallas Heritage Village. Each of these cultures holiday traditions are going to be honored. Sing along with strolling carolers, tell St. Nicholas your holiday wishes, and make holiday crafts. Local groups perform on three stages all evening. Festive foods are available for purchase from food trucks as well as a bake sale, traditional kettle corn, nuts and more.

 

December 15-January 6

Christmas Village at Bayou Bend in Houston

Get in the holiday spirit with carolers, a faux-snowball play area, a handcrafted model

train, thousands of lights, and more- all on 14 acres of gardens and art nestled in River Oaks. Holiday-themed tours of Ima Hogg’s historic mansion crafted by Todd Waite feature live actors, theatrical effects, and Christmas decorations.

 

December 17

48th Annual LBJ Tree Lighting at LBJ State Park and Historic Site

The Texas Hill Country Community in this special tradition started 48 years ago by President and Mrs. Johnson. Enjoy carolers, a live nativity, Santa Claus, refreshments and of course, the spectacular tree lighting. Then revisit the past at the Sauer-Beckmann Living History Farm.
