Authentic Texas Response to COVID-19
Throughout the history of the Lone Star state, Texans have looked adversity square in the face and risen to the challenge with a confidence in the future. Sam Houston stated, “Texas has yet to learn submission to any oppression, come from what source it may.” We will come through COVID-19 too.
Along with many others, we believe this dynamic situation needs to be addressed in an informed, common sense and calm manner. The first priority is the health and safety of our fellow citizens. Please follow the guidelines as outlined by the national Center for Disease Control (CDC) and take all necessary precautions.
Declarations by local, county and state officials, closures of educational systems and institutions, and changes to basic business functions have had – and will continue to have – a significant impact to our daily lives. We look forward to the time when we can once again visit those beaches or mountains that bring respite to our spirits; or when we can explore historic downtowns, visit museums and personally connect with our heritage.
So, while travel is not advisable under current conditions, we are working to provide new and innovative ways to serve both our partners and readers. We invite you to explore this website and our social media channels; use these tools to consider where you’ll go and what you’ll do – what your plans with friends and family may include in the future.
